Mya rolls/falls over for real this time

3 Months!

I missed writing a post when Mya hit the quarter of a year mark, so I'll start by just updating to that point now.  I can't think of any major milestones... she has been smiling more, starting to chuckle a bit, and has been "talking" a lot just within the past week.  I love hearing her sweet little voice trying so hard to form some kind of word, but mostly it just sounds like cute moaning and squealing.

Brooks' mom flew out so she could stay with Mya the first few days I went back to work so it was easier for me to leaver her with family for the first time.  They had great fun together!

10 Weeks

Finally caught one of her smiles, which she has been making more of lately so it should become easier to capture them.

I discovered that I really enjoy making things for Mya.  In fact, I may use this blog more for posing those crafts and the shutterfly website for Mya updates and pics.

10 weeks already- her face is suddenly looking different to me- older and wiser :)

I realize I didn't post for 9 weeks.  I ended up getting the pink eye Mya had plus a sinus infection so the week is sort of a blur.  No major milestones for this week either- just finding what makes the little girl laugh.  Tonight I discovered the best way to make her laugh.  Her doctor recommended using a hair dryer in the skin folds of her chubby rolls (sounds kind of gross sorry) but Mya loves it!  She thinks it is so much fun.  Who would have thought a blow dryer would be her favorite toy.

2 Months! (8 weeks)

Mya's 2 Month check up went very well, despite us having had a sleepless night prior due to colds.  We are so grateful for a healthy baby weighing 12 pounds 7 ounces (92nd percentile)!  Perhaps she'll be tall like her daddy:  1 foot 11 inches (82nd percentile) Everything else checked out and the doc said she has a really strong grip so Brooks is excited that she'll be a good rock climber.  I'm just excited she's healthy, strong, and beautiful :)

Mya is really starting to react with smiles and faces :) We usually have to work pretty hard for them with crazy faces noises and tickling and it is funny to see her working to figure out how to smile and make the face she's attempting.

Each one of her expressions warms my heart as I get to watch her little personality breaking through... cuddle time is my favorite... she is the sweetest- even when she's screaming in my ear; I love her little cry.

Mya has officially discovered her fingers and how great they are to suck on... not her thumb - usually her index finger! She still won't really take a pacifier, but I guess her hand is easier to find ;)

7 Weeks

Mya is improving on holding objects when placed in her hand.  This handy rattle that her great grandparents gave her is shaped similar to a finger so she does exceptionally well with this one (her face says she's concentrating).

We got a monitor for Mya's room just in time because she was growing out of her bassinet fast! She sleeps so well in her crib; I thought the transition might be hard but I think she loves the space to spread out.  And the monitor has a motion sensor so I can sleep easy knowing that an alarm will sound if there's a problem.

Mya got pink eye, but began healing really fast!  I just felt bad for the poor girl; she was such a trooper :)

 

 

6 Weeks!

At 6 weeks old, Mya is doing great!  She is more alert and her personality is beginning to peep through.  Since she is able to hold her head up pretty well now, I was able to prop her up in the chair to take pictures and she gave me a great model pose... she even tried smiling a bit, but it's hard to capture those special brief moments on my basic camera.  Pretty soon, I'm expecting she's going to have the smile-thing down!
